A great stay at The Hague

Enjoy all the seaside has to offer and visit Scheveningen beach by the North Sea, direct tram (2,3 km from the hotel). Or how about admiring a majestic view of The Hague on the Skyview Ferris Wheel at the pier? Cannot get enough of the sea? Visit the Aquarium or get a whiff of the culture, just off the beach, at Museum Beelden aan Zee, featuring a range of contemporary sculptures.

Head to Grote Marktstraat and Passage, where you will find the main shops. Looking for more high end boutiques, Noordeinde is connected to the high streets and takes you past the beautiful palace as you walk. Quick sight-seeing tip: you can rent bikes for 15 Euro per first day (12 Euro the next days).

Escher in the Palace (2,8 km from our aparthotel) is a building dedicated to the famous Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher and features his well-known optical illusions as well as his lesser known Italian landscapes.

If you are attending a conference at the World forum, you only have to cross the street to be on time for you meeting.

FIND A ROOM

Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery, houses paintings from the Dutch Golden Age and contains masterpieces including Vermeer’s famous Girl with the Pearl Earring.

Louwman museum 4,8 km, with the world’s largest private collection of antique and classic cars, the earliest of which dating back to the 1930s, will interest even the mildest gearhead.

No spoilers. It is best not to do too much research on Panorama Mesdag (1,8 km from the hotel) before you go. It is a must-see quirky museum that we recommend you just go and enjoy. Let us just say it is an excellent alternative for the beach on a rainy day.

Family Fun

Have you ever wanted to feel like a giant? A Visit to Holland’s miniature theme park Madurodam is in order. It is 1,6 km from Kennedy and has many interactive hands-on activities for the whole family.

For the ultimate movie theatre experience, head to the Omniversum, only 100 m from aparthotel Kennedy. It promises an interactive movie every hour on the hour, every day of the week except for holidays. This can be combined with the Museon, a hands-on educational museum mixing technology and science with a good dose of fun and relevance, suitable for all ages.

We also recommend the ‘Kinderboekenmuseum’ (Children’s Book Museum), 1,6 km from the hotel and especially great for young children. Featuring famous characters like Cecil the Caterpillar, Pipi Longstocking and many more, the museum offers kids the chance to become part of their favourite stories, play games and re-enact scenes and activities from their favourite books.
